Diesel Mechanic
Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic A growing transportation and fleet operation in Cumberland, MD is actively seeking an experienced Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to join their maintenance team. This position is ideal for a technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, values safety, and enjoys troubleshooting and repairing heavy-duty diesel equipment in a fast-paced shop environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of diesel trucks and trailers to ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, brakes, suspensions, transmissions, and other truck and trailer components Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service inspections Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic software and tools Complete DOT inspections and ensure equipment remains compliant with safety regulations Accurately document repairs, parts usage, and maintenance records Inspect equipment to identify potential failures or safety concerns Work collaboratively with the maintenance team and communicate repair updates effectively Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Qualifications: Previous experience working as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician Strong understanding of diesel engine systems and heavy-duty truck repair Experience using diagnostic software and troubleshooting electrical systems Ability to read service manuals, schematics, and technical documentation Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record Compensation & Benefits: Competitive Pay $27.00 - $33.00/hour based on experience and skill level Benefits Include 100% Company-Paid Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage 401(k) Program with Profit Sharing Paid Vacation and Holidays Tool Allowance Stable, long-term career opportunity Schedule Monday - Friday Afternoon Shift | 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM Overtime available and paid after 40 hours Pre-Employment Requirements Candidates must successfully complete: Drug Screening DOT Physical Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Check Criminal Background Check Apply Today If you are an experienced Diesel Mechanic looking for a stable opportunity with competitive pay and excellent benefits, we encourage you to apply.
