Industrial Sewer

Position Summary The Industrial Sewer operates sewing machines and related equipment to assemble, hem, and reinforce materials for custom awnings and canopies used on our boat lifts. This position helps ensure products meet quality and production standards while maintaining a clean and organized work area. Responsibilities Operate industrial sewing machines to produce custom products. Follow work orders, patterns, and product guides to ensure accuracy. Inspect completed products for quality and consistency. Perform routine maintenance and make minor adjustments to equipment. Maintain materials and workspace in an organized, safe manner. Collaborate with team members in Lean Cells to meet production goals. Use Microsoft Teams and related applications for communication and file sharing. Follow Lean operating principles to improve efficiency and workflow. Perform other tasks as assigned by manufacturing management. Qualifications Experience with powered and unpowered hand tools. Ability to read and interpret sewing patterns and use a tape measure. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Teams). Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Team-oriented attitude and willingness to learn. Prior industrial sewing experience preferred, but not required. Physical Requirements Able to work both seated (sewing) and standing (cutting, patterning). Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, and lifting required. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. safely. Manufacturing environment-safety glasses, hearing protection, and footwear required.
