Position Summary: Responsible for providing high quality, cost effective, and evidence- based medical care to hospitalized patients under the supervision of Hospitalist Physicians. Also, provides support to our surgical and specialty services through consultative general medicine practice. Position Requirements: Formal Education / Training: Current licensure by the State of Tennessee as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant. Current DEA number. Able to demonstrate leadership, managerial ability, good interpersonal relationships, and apply sound administrative principles. Obtain ACLS certification within 6 months of hire and maintain certification during employment. One year of hospital experience required. One year of intensivist experience preferred. Workplace Experience: Patient care delivery in the acute care setting, to include floors, Critical Care Units, and Emergency Department. Equipment and Skills: Standard patient care equipment and training, including the electronic medical record, is provided. The mid-level Hospitalist must have the ability to work well under pressure, to function dependently and independently, and to be flexible in applying medical knowledge to a variety of situations. Physical Effort: Able to communicate in English verbally and legibly. Able to stand/sit/work for up to twelve hours a day. Able to lift/move up to 25 lbs.
