Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Fleet Maintenance Technician to join our team and keep our fleet operating at peak performance. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a diverse range of heavy equipment, trucks, and industrial machinery. Your expertise will ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our fleet, supporting our operational goals with precision and professionalism. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery to ensure optimal operation. Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, automotive diagnostics tools, and electrical testing equipment; execute repairs efficiently. Conduct repairs on transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension components, shocks & struts, and HVAC systems to maintain vehicle safety standards. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and fabrication techniques to repair or modify equipment as needed. Maintain detailed service records and documentation of all maintenance activities; ensure compliance with safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines. Assist in the assembly and disassembly of complex machinery components; support equipment upgrades and troubleshooting efforts. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating repair status clearly to team members and ensuring minimal downtime for fleet vehicles. Qualifications Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, or similar industrial machinery. Dealership experience or background working with Caterpillar or other major heavy equipment brands is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge across diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, tire service, brake repair, alignment, welding, and fabrication. Ability to read schematics and technical manuals; proficient in automotive diagnostics and electrical troubleshooting. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering devices, and other maintenance tools required for complex repairs. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely; comfortable working in various environmental conditions. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to maintenance tasks; strong customer service orientation.
