Food Server/Cashier

Job Description Job responsibilities include preparing and serving specialty made salads, sandwiches, and to-go food for customers. Operates cash register to accept payment for to-go food services. Maintains a cleanly workspace and ensures freshness of food served to customers.General Accountabilities:Customer ServicesGreets customer in a pleasant manner.Describes menu items, and preparation descriptions to customers or suggests food items that might appeal to them.Takes phone orders and assembles orders for customer pick-up.Assembles on-line orders for customer pick-up.Assist customers by providing information and resolving their complaints.Food PreparationPrepares and serves specialty made salads.Ensures freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock.May be required to chop and prep salad or to-go food items.Inspects and cleans food preparation areas or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices.CashierReceives cash/credit cards and processes customer payments.Issues receipts, refunds, credits, or change to customers.Maintains clean and orderly checkout area.Stocking & CleaningStocks food service stations with to-go paper products, serving containers and utensils.Checks temperatures of freezers, refrigerators, and heating equipment to ensure proper functionality.Cleans and sanitizes work areas, utensils, equipment, and service areas.Minimum Job QualificationsMinimum of few months to one year of food service or customer service experienceMust have acceptable verbal English language communication skills.Must have basic math skills.Requires ability to lift 5-25 pounds.Requires Food Handlers Certificate, which may be obtained prior to start date.SkillsService orientationActive listening skillsDemonstrated ability to follow instructionAbility to report to work on time and commit to scheduled shifts Company DescriptionLooking for full time positions (shifts typically from 11am-7pm) building custom made organic salads at Alameda's own, Greens & Grains, located in the upscale Market Place.We are a family run restaurant committed to serving the highest quality food with a smile.
