OverviewThis position will utilize their expertise to arrange, instruct, and develop other engineers and technicians to meet the customer’s requirements and schedules. Utilize an individual’s expertise to work closely with the Sales Department and analyze the upcoming revenue projections, to make recommendations for staffing and Capex needs as well as provide cost information for quoting.ResponsibilitiesDefine, plan and complete development and production projects in laser micro manufacturing for the life sciencesPerform complex equipment set up and process development of laser workstations.Provide technical skill training to laser operators and techniciansLead the successful transition of development projects to productionSupport identification and planning of projects to be considered for the transition processTake ownership of assigned tasks and work across several departments to achieve a goalSupport cross departmental teams in conjunction with a project transitionMonitor ongoing development projects for manufacturabilityOversee and bring to closure on any quality related issues to include Customer Compliant and Corrective ActionSupport the Operations Manager in solving on-going production issuesSupport Sales through the completion of project routing for quotesGenerate and update setup sheets, work instructions, and CAPAs as requiredTake ownership of assigned tasks and work across several departments to achieve a goalLead cross departmental teams in continuous improvement processesMentor and guide other technical staff to optimized solutionsParticipate in sales support activities including sales presentations, customer visits, and technical seminarsMonitor other engineers in the department for technical effectiveness and offer assistance when necessaryManage daily system and project schedulesArrange applications development engineers and technician’s schedulesInstruct and help engineers and technicians to develop optimum processesConduct regularly scheduled Performance Evaluations for staff and provide ongoing feedbackWork with Director when disciplinary actions are requiredSchedule and approve overtime/work schedulesQualificationsBachelor of Science degree in an engineering or physical science discipleFamiliarity with ISO Quality Systems particularly in medical device manufacturingAbility to generate drawings and models (2D & 3D CAD) using GD&TAbility to present and convey complex engineering ideas to internal and external customersAbility to read and understand engineering drawings using a GD&T systemAbility to create job related documentation for quality purposesAbility to quickly and positively adapt to changing priorities and processesAbility to work under minimal supervisionStrong communication and organizational skills.Strong project management skillsStrong leadership skills
