Join Clark Nexsen, a JMT Company, and become part of a dynamic, collaborative team dedicated to delivering exceptional service to our clients-while making a meaningful impact on our communities and the world through the projects we help bring to life.Clark Nexsen, a JMT Company is seeking an Electrical Engineer EIT who will be responsible for assisting in the design, engineering, analysis, equipment selection, and system layout of electrical systems for multi-discipline building design projects for commercial, higher education and government facilities of moderate to large scope.Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.General responsibilities include but are not limited to the followingWorking with, responding to, and taking direction from Senior Engineers, Project Managers, Managing Principals, Department Directors, and senior managementPerforming various aspects of Electrical Engineering design, including Conceptual Studies, Program Requirements, Design Analysis, Calculations, Equipment selection and layout, and System selection and layout for building design, upgrades, and retrofitsWorking in a multi-discipline design team supervised by senior engineers and project managers on projects of medium to large scope. Coordinating and communicating with other engineers and design team membersMeeting with clients as directedComplying with the firm's quality control policies and proceduresLearn and implement department and company standardsPreparing project programming, schematic designs, design development designs, and construction documents.Providing electrical support services during the bidding process, such as preparing addenda, amendments, and responding to RFI'sProviding electrical construction phase services including representing the firm on-site, answering RFI's, reviewing shop drawings and preparing record drawingsRequired SkillsAbility to prepare effective and concise documents and correspondenceAbility to make presentations to a variety of groupsAbility to work in a collaborative environmentHave a can-do attitude with a desire to provide outstanding professional servicesBe dedicated their professional development as well as the success of colleagues and the firm as a wholeProficient in MS Office SoftwareProficient in discipline specific design softwareRequired ExperienceMust have graduated from an ABET-accredited 4 or 5-year engineering program in one of the following disciplines: Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering (Electrical Engineering focus), Electrical Engineering Technology, or Architectural Engineering Technology (Electrical Engineering focus)Must have earned the designation of EI or EIT in at least one US state, preferably in the local jurisdictionPursuing Professional Engineer licensure (PE) within 12 months of eligibilityPreferred ExperienceUnderstanding of sustainable design principles and design practices included in LEED and Well Building standards is encouragedAdditional certifications such as RCDD, LC, IALD are encouraged to reflect personal growth in the profession and an ever-increasing knowledge base to enhance the design and documentation processActive membership in IEEE, IES or other related professional organizations is desirableWorking ConditionsAt JMT, we prioritize a healthy work/life balance and offer a flexible hybrid working schedule. JMT offers a hybrid work schedule. The selected candidate is expected to work in a JMT office location at least three days per week or as needed to perform assigned duties. While most of our work is desk-based, there may be times when standing, walking, bending and lifting of minimal weight are required.
