Title: CanvasserStart Date: NegotiableStatus: Part-Time, Hourly, Seasonal to 11/6/26Report To: Regional OrganizerLocations: Billings, BozemanOVERVIEWMontana Conservation Voters (MCV) and the MCV Action Fund are seeking well-organized, engaging CANVASSERS to connect with voters one-on-one about a variety of vital issues important to protecting Montana’s natural resources and the candidates willing to fight for conservation in public office. This boots-on-the-ground role would be great for a person who can lean into important conversations, and has a passion for conservation, strong sense of organization, and the ability to work independently. MCV is currently hiring Canvassers in Billings and Bozeman for the ongoing election cycle.JOB DESCRIPTION: CANVASSERSCanvassers will empower Montanans and amplify their voices by engaging them at their doors during the ongoing election cycle. Canvassers will be part of a local team committed to protecting Montana values by electing pro-conservation candidates. This is an excellent opportunity for those wanting to get more engaged and shape the future of Montana. Job duties include, but are not limited to:Knocking on voters’ doors to have guided conversations about endorsed candidates and conservation issuesPhone banking to have guided conversations with voters about endorsed candidates and conservation issuesWith training provided, entering accurate data about voters and conversations in the canvassing databaseBeing responsive to feedback from the Regional Organizer and assisting with administrative tasks related to canvassingQUALIFICATIONSA strong commitment to MCV’s mission and goalsClear verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with the public and your canvassing teamExperience following detailed directions and proactively seeking feedback from a supervisorAbility to learn and share important information with the public with excellent attention to detailSelf-motivation and ability to problem solveAccess to reliable transportation AND a reliable smartphone or tablet that can be used while canvassingAbility to work 20 to 29 hours per week, with evening and weekend availability strongly preferredCanvassers should plan to commit to a minimum of 20 hours weekly, but they may work no more than 29 hours weekly. Canvassers will work outside at least 80% of their workday and be on their feet walking for at least 80% of each work shift. Recruiting staff who better reflect Montana is a priority for MCV, and we encourage applicants from all cultures, races, ethnicities, genders, and all other identities. COMPENSATIONMCV offers a competitive hourly wage of $25 per hour with bonus opportunities.
