Someone who identifies the key legal issues in a case, asks whether the evidence actually proves what needs to be proven, and moves cases forward without waiting to be told the next step. We use technology aggressively, document everything, and hold ourselves to a standard most firms in our market don't bother with.If you care deeply about clients, take ownership of your work, and want your effort to actually matter, keep reading.Compensation:$80,000 - $114,000 per yearResponsibilities:Identify the key legal issues in each case from the start, and analyze whether the available evidence actually supports what needs to be proven at the hearing or trialPartner with the managing attorney to develop and implement a case strategy, bringing your own analysis and recommendations to the tableStrategically gather facts, documents, and evidence from clients, opposing parties, and third-party sources to build the strongest possible caseServe as a key point of contact for clients, communicating clearly, answering questions, and providing compassionate support to families during difficult transitionsPrepare court-ready exhibits, pleadings, and case materials, including interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, affidavits, and trial notebooks, under the supervision of the managing attorneyMove cases forward proactively by tracking deadlines, coordinating next steps, and keeping matters progressing without delayQualifications:3+ years of substantive paralegal experience, with direct experience in both family law and litigationGenuinely enjoys the analytical and strategic work of building a case, identifying key legal issues, evaluating evidence against what needs to be proven, not just executing the tasks around itParalegal certificate or degree required, or 5+ years of substantive paralegal experience demonstrating equivalent competenceComfortable adopting new technology aggressively, including AI tools, as a core part of daily workClear, precise communication, whether talking to clients, instructing AI, or writing for the courtStrong ability to work independently in a fully remote, digital-first environmentExceptional attention to detail, recognizing that family law work has real consequences for real familiesTakes ownership of outcomes, not just tasks, following through until matters are resolvedAbout CompanyAt Adelante Legal Services, we believe family law should heal, not harm.
