We are committed to providing results, building trust, and operating with integrity.About The RoleSafety DirectorAs a Safety Director at Valor Contracting,The Safety Director is responsible for leading and managing all project safety operations for Valor Contracting. This role oversees the implementation and enforcement of company safety policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure a safe and compliant work environment across all project sites. The Safety Director will work closely with project leadership, field teams, subcontractors, and clients to promote a proactive safety culture and maintain the highest safety standards.The Safety Director will oversee the overall safety performance of the project, including site orientations, review of pre-task planning activities (including pick plans), participation in daily shift huddles and contractor meetings, conducting safety audits, and monitoring jobsite safety compliance across all shifts.Position LogisticsWork Environment: On-SiteLocation & Project Information: This position will be a large data center project located near Mandan, ND. Work Schedule: 50 hours / week or based on project schedule needs. Opportunities to travel to additional projects sites may be available. Work Type: Full Time, ExemptLocation & Travel Details: This is a traveling position (up to 100%), where you will be located onsite at a project location for the duration of the project. Reasonable support for meals and lodging will be provided for eligible team members while traveling. This position will be eligible for routine travel home. Preference may be given to candidates who are located near Mandan or Fargo, NDPosition ResponsibilitiesLead and manage all jobsite safety operations and initiatives across assigned projects. Develop, implement, and enforce company safety policies, Emergency Action Plans, procedures, and standards. Oversee site-specific safety programs and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company requirements. Conduct and oversee new hire and subcontractor site orientations. Review pre-task plans, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and critical lift/pick plans for accuracy and completeness. Participate in daily shift huddles, toolbox talks, coordination meetings, and contractor safety meetings. Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and field observations to identify and correct unsafe conditions and behaviors. Monitor safety performance across all shifts and ensure consistent enforcement of safety expectations. Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns; develop corrective action plans and track resolution. Provide coaching, mentorship, and support to project teams and subcontractors regarding safe work practices. Manage and mentor Safety Supervisors and additional safety personnel as needed. Maintain accurate safety documentation, reporting, and compliance records. Collaborate with project leadership to promote a culture of accountability and continuous safety improvement. Assist with client safety requirements, audits, and reporting expectations. We're Seeking Individuals Who HaveHave a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or a related field.Bring 7–10 years of construction safety experience, ideally within commercial, industrial, or mission critical/data center environments.Have successfully led safety programs on large-scale construction projects.Possess strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, and risk management practices.Hold an OSHA 30 certification; CHST, CSP, or other professional safety certifications are preferred.Demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.Can effectively influence and engage employees, subcontractors, and leadership teams at all levels of an organization.Are proactive, solutions-oriented leaders with a strong commitment to jobsite safety and continuous improvement.Total Rewards Approach Our salary ranges are established based on a combination of market data, internal equity, and the unique characteristics of our organization such as our size, revenue, and industry.
