Senior Developer(DBA + SQL)
Key Responsibilities Administer and manage production SQL Server environments across Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and AWS MySQLAuthor, review, and optimize T-SQL queries, stored procedures, DML statements, and schema changesPerform query performance tuning through execution plan analysis, indexing strategies, statistics management, and operator-level diagnosticsCollaborate closely with the lead architect to evaluate and implement decisions impacting production environmentsDevelop and maintain a thorough understanding of production schemas, data flows, and system architectureSupport Entity Framework–based applications by analyzing generated SQL and recommending optimizationsLeverage AI tooling to enhance database operations, monitoring, and automation practices – This is nice to have.Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, risks, and operational inefficienciesRequired Qualifications Technical6+ years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator with hands-on SQL Server expertiseProficiency with Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed InstanceExperience with cloud-hosted relational databases, including AWS MySQLAdvanced T-SQL skills, including DDL, DML, stored procedures, and query optimizationDemonstrated ability to interpret execution plans and conduct operator-level query analysisWorking knowledge of Entity Framework and its SQL generation patternsFamiliarity with AI tools and their application in database management and automationProfessional Attributes Strong operational mindset with a focus on reliability, performance, and production stabilityDecisive and composed under pressure, with the ability to make sound judgments in live production environmentsSelf-directed and proactive, with a track record of identifying and addressing issues independentlyIntellectually curious, with a demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional growthHighly reliable, with a strong sense of ownership and accountabilityCollaborative team player with the ability to serve as a trusted technical partner to senior leadershipWell-rounded perspective that extends beyond data semantics to encompass system-wide operational awareness
