Specialist – Shopfloor IT Operations Automotive ManufacturingLocation: Blythewood, South Carolina (Onsite – 5 days/week)Employment Type: Full-TimeSalary Range: $100,000 – $125,000 + Full benefits package + Annual bonus eligiblePotential for Relocation assistance availableSCADA / MES / Automotive Manufacturing floor and systems expertise requiredOverviewA rapidly growing automotive manufacturing organization is seeking an IT Operations Specialist to support and optimise production-floor IT systems and infrastructure.This is a hands-on, onsite role focused on ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of shopfloor technologies across all production shifts.Key ResponsibilitiesShopfloor Systems SupportSupport and maintain systems including:Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)SCADA systemsTorque / Screw Data Management systemsMonitor, configure, and troubleshoot to ensure system integrityHardware & Device SupportConfigure and troubleshoot:Worker guidance stationsAndon boardsPrinters and label systemsHandheld devicesMaintain and support shopfloor hardware infrastructureService Desk & SupportManage and resolve service tickets (Tier 1 support)Diagnose and resolve production IT issues quicklyProvide support across all production shiftsSupport Strategy & OperationsDevelop and implement shopfloor IT support conceptsConduct audits and generate reports for:ComplianceSystem performanceOperational efficiencyCross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with:Production teamsEngineeringITEnsure seamless integration of IT systems within manufacturing operationsRequired Qualifications4+ years of experience in:Manufacturing / industrial IT environmentsAutomotive production (preferred)Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or related field2+ years of project management experienceStrong knowledge of:Shopfloor systems (MES, SCADA, etc.)Databases, programming, and communication protocolsBasic knowledge of:Automation technologiesPLCs and industrial interfacesKey SkillsSCADA / MES / Shopfloor systems expertiseAutomation & PLC fundamentalsProject management skillsHardware troubleshooting and configurationStrong problem-solving and analytical thinkingAbility to work independently in fast-paced environments➕ Preferred SkillsExperience with:Edge computingTorque data systemsFamiliarity with:AI and Big Data in manufacturingITIL frameworkKnowledge of:Robotics, sensors, and industrial systems🎯 Ideal CandidateHands-on shopfloor IT specialist with manufacturing experienceStrong in troubleshooting both software and hardwareComfortable working in fast-paced production environmentsAble to support operations across multiple shiftsProactive in identifying and implementing process improvements
