Planer Supervisor
The Planer Supervisor will be responsible for all aspects of safety and production of the planer mill, dry kilns, and shipping department. This role will be a member of the leadership team at the mill.
West Fraser is currently looking for individuals who are interested in a full-time, long-term career in a modern mill environment.
The successful candidate should be highly skilled and motivated.
What you will be responsible for:
Achieving production goals with the highest regard and adherence to employee safety
Managing and motivating the hourly workforce in the assigned areas
Effective evaluation and continuous improvement of processes
Required skills you will need:
At least 1 year of prior experience as a supervisor or lead
High School diploma or GED
Demonstrative safety leadership
Excellent team-building and motivational skills
Understanding of accounting and financial metrics for a mill operation
Good written and verbal communication skills
Good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
Preferred skills that will make you stand out:
Understands and demonstrates quality-control processes
Strong analytical skills
Ability to work under pressure
Lumber grading certification
Wood products experience with any of the following: Planning, Sawmilling, Drying
Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
