Based in Los Angeles, California, we’re leveraging our paradigm-shifting water-based technology to reshape the space domain for good.Job DescriptionAs an Electrical Engineer, you will work closely with a focused technical team to develop critical avionics for our product fleet, including missions flying in 2026 and 2027. You’ll have extreme ownership over your work, move quickly, and operate with high agency. As we grow, there will be opportunities to expand your role with the company. You will contribute to all, and own many, aspects of electrical system development, testing, qualification, and deployment for General Galactic missions and vehicles.Responsibilities may include: Architect and deliver spacecraft electrical systems that meet power, performance, reliability, and interface requirementsOwn schematic capture, component selection, PCB layout, fabrication, assembly, and board bring-upDesign avionics, power electronics, sensor interfaces, communication interfaces, and microcontroller-based hardwareDevelop and integrate spacecraft wiring harnesses, connectors, grounding, shielding, and electrical interface control documentsPerform bench testing, debugging, root-cause analysis, and design iteration on flight and ground hardwareSupport system integration, environmental testing, qualification, and acceptance testingMaintain clear design documentation, schematics, BOMs, test procedures, and test reportsRequirementsSuccessful applicants should have most of the following: BS in electrical engineering, computer engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field2+ years of electrical hardware development experience, preferably in aerospaceExperience with schematic capture, PCB layout, board bring-up, and hardware debuggingExperience designing analog, digital, power, and embedded electrical systemsFamiliarity with common interfaces such as CAN, RS-422, SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, and discrete I/OExperience with wiring harness design, connector selection, grounding, shielding, and EMC considerationsProficiency with electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, electronic loads, and power suppliesExperience with Altium, KiCad, OrCAD, or similar ECAD toolsUnderstanding of component derating, radiation effects, thermal constraints, and high-reliability designExperience with environmental testing, qualification, failure analysis, and corrective actionsExperience in a fast-paced startup or similarly hands-on environmentFirst-principles approach to solving problems with incomplete information------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Your salary and incentives will be determined individually on the basis of the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.Benefits include medical/vision/dental/PTO/401k/stock options, and more!Very brief statements of fit/interest in this role are encouraged, please send to careers@gengalactic.com. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------This position requires access to information protected under US export control laws, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and/or the Export Administration Regulations.
