Job Title: Senior Field Service Technician (HVAC – Manufacturer Support)Location: New York City, NYTravel: ~70% (NY/NJ), ~20% regional (tri-state), ~10% (air travel) Position OverviewWe are a leading HVAC manufacturer seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to provide on-site technical support, troubleshooting, and commissioning assistance across the New York City and tri-state area.This role is critical to ensuring system performance, installation quality, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is highly experienced in diagnostics, follows structured processes, and can represent the company professionally in the field.This is not a standard service role, this position focuses on advanced troubleshooting, system validation, and technical support, with opportunities to assist in training and knowledge transfer.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform advanced field troubleshooting on HVAC systems, including inverter-driven and VRF systemsProvide on-site technical support to contractors, installers, and partnersConduct startup and commissioning inspections to ensure proper system operationIdentify installation issues and report findings for quality control and continuous improvementDocument service findings clearly and follow internal processes and reporting protocolsSupport internal teams by escalating recurring issues and contributing to technical feedback loopsOccasionally assist with technical training or field demonstrations when requiredMaintain a professional presence when representing the manufacturer on job sitesTravel Requirements~30% regional travel within the tri-state area~10% air travel for out-of-state supportMinimal weekend work (~2%, emergency-only situations)Required QualificationsMinimum 5+ years of HVAC troubleshooting experience (field diagnostics required)Strong experience with inverter-driven systems and VRF systemsEPA Universal Certification (required)Valid Driver’s License (required)Strong ability to follow structured processes and service protocolsExcellent problem-solving and diagnostic skillsAbility to communicate technical information clearly in the fieldPreferred QualificationsOSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 (OSHA 40 preferred)Previous experience in manufacturer support, commissioning, or technical advisory rolesExperience delivering technical training or presentationsWork ScheduleStandard weekday scheduleOvertime as needed (~10%)Minimal weekend work (emergency situations only)Compensation$40 – $70 per hour, based on experience and expertiseHigher range available for candidates with strong VRF/inverter and training capabilitiesAdditional InformationThis role does not include a company vehicleTravel and related expenses will be managed per company policy
