Martin and Son is a diversified construction company specializing in commercial & residential flooring, glass & glazing, walls & ceilings, commercial doors & hardware, and millwork & fixture installation. Position Description Position Description: We are seeking experienced flooring installers for our residential flooring division who are responsible for installing flooring products while operating basic tools and flooring equipment. Principal Responsibilities:Install LVT & LVP, VCT, carpet, sheet vinyl, wood, laminate, tile, and other specified flooringCut floor coverings and foundation materials according to blueprints and sketchesLoading & unloading materialsSweep, scrape, sand, or clean base surfaces to correct imperfections that may show through the floor coveringMix and apply required compounds to join and adhere foundation/flooring materialCapable of performing a variety of calculations related to surface area, cubic volume and estimating material quantitiesDetermines traffic areas and best location(s) for seams if not previously specified in paperworkUse and maintain hand tools, portable power tools, and stationary power tools in a safe mannerIndependently keeps the job on scheduleFollows all written paperwork and does not make any assumptions without the proper direction from the sales person/project manage Other Duties As Assigned: Performs other related duties as assigned including supporting team members in the completion of their work for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the business. Position Requirements Experience/Education Required:Must possess the skills to multi-task, work in a team setting, and meet deadlinesMust be able to complete basic floor covering installationsAbility to read and understand blue prints, construction plans and layoutsBasic knowledge of tool and equipment safety, ability to identify and correct environmental or other workplace hazardsHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent requiredMust have a valid driver's license Conditions of employment: Must be able to pass pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen.
