No relocation provided, must currently reside in the USA.The Business Development Manager (BDM) plays a critical role in driving revenue growth by partnering with sales to identify, develop, and close complex software and consulting opportunities within the discrete manufacturing industry. This role bridges technical expertise, business strategy, and client engagement—serving as both a strategic advisor to customers and a key contributor throughout the sales cycle.The BDM is responsible for expanding pipeline, shaping solution strategies, and articulating clear business value to customer stakeholders ranging from operational leaders to C-suite executives. Additionally, this role functions as a business analyst, leading customer assessments to evaluate product development and manufacturing processes, uncover optimization opportunities, and define Sales PartnershipCollaborate with Sales to drive opportunities through the full sales cycle, from qualification to closeSupport achievement of revenue targets by positioning software and consulting solutions aligned to customer needsContribute to pipeline growth through opportunity identification, qualification, and strategic account engagementParticipate in and support the development of Statements of Work (SOWs) and solution proposalsCustomer Engagement & AdvisoryBuild and maintain trusted advisor relationships with customer stakeholders, including department leaders and executivesLead value-based conversations focused on ROI, time to value, operational efficiency, and business transformationPrepare and deliver on-location or remote presentations that clearly articulate business cases, solution value, and implementation strategiesBusiness Analysis & Solution DevelopmentConduct onsite and remote business process assessments, ranging from half-day to multi-week engagementsEvaluate customer processes and the systems supporting them, with a focus on product development and manufacturingAnalyze product development and manufacturing workflows to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and optimization opportunitiesDevelop actionable recommendations, including high-level optimization roadmaps and measurable positive business outcomesTechnical & Industry ExpertiseMaintain a strong understanding of company offerings and the broader technology landscape including Additive Manufacturing, CAD, PLM, ALM, IIoT/IoT, MES, AI, etc.Maintain a strong understanding of EAC offerings around AI, and how it can improve our customers product development and manufacturing processesAlign customer challenges with appropriate solutions and internal subject matter expertsAct as a subject matter resource for both customers and internal teamsInternal Enablement & CollaborationEducate, coach, and support the extended sales team on solution positioning and value articulationCollaborate cross-functionally with delivery, marketing, and leadership teams to ensure alignment and successful outcomesShare market insights and customer feedback to inform strategy and offeringsPerform other duties as assigned based on evolving business needs.QualificationsAn equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience)5–7+ years of experience in business development, technical sales, or business analysis within the discrete manufacturing industryProven experience supporting complex, consultative sales cycles and developing account-specific close strategiesBackground working in a collaborative sales environment with overlay or matrixed teamsFamiliar with Microsoft Office toolsIndustry & Technical ExpertiseStrong understanding of product development and manufacturing business processDemonstrated ability to assess business processes and identify optimization opportunities with measurable valueExperience with PLM platforms (e.g., PTC), enterprise systems, and/or IIoT/IoT solutions preferredExperience with applying the latest AI technology to improve business processes and systems preferredCore CompetenciesExceptional communication, presentation, and storytelling skills across technical and executive audiencesExcellent organizational skills, ability to work independently with focus and discipline.Ability to balance business, technical, and sales acumen in customer-facing
