Pathology Technician 1

Dahl-Chase Diagnostic Services is an anatomic pathology laboratory serving patients across Maine. As a Pathology Technician, you will be a vital member of the surgical pathology team providing patients and physicians with accurate results in a timely fashion. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast paced and stressful environment. Hours: 2:00pm-10:30 pm Monday - Friday Responsibilities: Accessions surgical specimens into the laboratory information system Provides accurate gross descriptions of surgical specimens. Handles and submits tissue specimens for histologic examination per protocol. Records and monitors temperatures. Assists with frozen sections. Supports Pathologists' Assistants and Pathologists. Answers phone calls and questions from our clients. Disposes of tissue samples per protocol. Other ancillary duties as assigned. Bachelor's degree in a science-related field, meeting CLIA requirements for high-complexity testing is required.
