This role focuses on developing lifelong healthy habits, teamwork, and physical literacy while fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all scholars.AMS teachers are collaborative, growth-minded professionals who believe all students can achieve at high levels.Key ResponsibilitiesInstruction & Student AchievementDeliver engaging, standards-aligned physical education instruction for K–8 students.Teach fundamental motor skills, fitness concepts, and team-building activities.Develop and implement lessons that promote physical fitness, coordination, and healthy lifestyles.Differentiate instruction to meet the needs and abilities of all students.Monitor student progress and encourage goal-setting related to fitness and wellness.Collaboration & Professional DevelopmentParticipate in weekly professional development and professional learning communities.Collaborate with staff to promote school-wide wellness initiatives.Contribute to a positive school culture focused on health and student engagementFamily & Community EngagementCommunicate with families regarding student participation and progress.Support and organize school events related to fitness, sports, or wellness.Scholar Culture & SupportImplement PBIS and proactive classroom management strategies in active settings.Ensure a safe, structured, and inclusive environment during physical activities.Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect among students.Minimum QualificationsCandidates must meet one of the following:Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field ORArizona teaching certification in Physical Education or a related subject areaAdditionally, Candidates MustDemonstrate strong classroom and activity management skillsPass required background checks and obtain an IVP Fingerprint Clearance CardDemonstrate commitment to serving Title I and multilingual communitiesShow enthusiasm for student health, fitness, and wellnessDemonstrate collaboration, flexibility, and strong organizational skillsAMS offers a competitive compensation and benefits package designed to support professional growth and long-term career success.Salary Range: $48,331.25 – $54,571.89 (DOE)401(k) retirement plan with employer contributionsMedical, dental, life, and disability insuranceOptional vision coveragePerformance bonuses averaging $2,200 annually (up to $3,400)Stipends for after-school coaching and extracurricular leadershipOngoing professional development and instructional coachingJoin us to enjoy rewarding challenges and ongoing opportunities!
