EMI/EMC Systems Test Engineer (Mid-Career)Location: Sterling Heights, MIEmployment Type: Full-Time | Hours: 40 hrs/week, Mon–Fri (with occasional overtime)Pay Range: $56.04 – $62.53 per hourAbout the RoleOur client is seeking a mid-career EMI/EMC Systems Test Engineer to support qualification testing for advanced military vehicle programs. In this role, you will plan, execute, and document EMI/EMC tests in compliance with MIL-STD standards, troubleshoot failures, and lead design improvements to ensure mission success. You will collaborate across engineering teams to deliver high-quality results that support the company's defense programs.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct EMI/EMC qualification testing in accordance with MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, or commercial (CISPR) standardsDevelop technical documents including test plans, reports, CDRLs, and presentationsSupport EMI/EMC testing activities on and around military vehicles, including setup, cabling, and harnessingTroubleshoot test failures and propose design improvements to mitigate issuesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project schedules and budgetsTravel occasionally to test sites/labs and attend technical meetingsPerform hands-on tasks such as climbing on/off vehicles, handling test equipment, and ensuring high-quality electrical connectionsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field (or equivalent experience)Minimum 5 years of qualification testing experience (military EMI/EMC experience preferred)Familiarity with MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-464 (CISPR experience considered)Strong technical writing skills for plans, reports, and customer deliverablesProficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)Ability to work in and around military vehicles, pass ASR test, and perform cable routing/connection tasksSelf-starter with problem-solving skills and motivation to develop EMI/EMC expertiseU.S. citizenship required; must be eligible for a U.S. security clearancePreferred QualificationsActive U.S. Security ClearanceExperience working with ground combat vehiclesiNARTE Electromagnetic Compatibility certificationKnowledge of EMI/EMC design principles, standards, and analysis methodsFamiliarity with CAD tools (Teamcenter, NX, CREO, CATIA)Experience with electrical diagrams (1-wire, 2-wire, assembly drawings)Familiarity with MBSE and Cameo modeling toolsUnderstanding of TEMPEST requirements and RED/BLACK separationKnowledge of electromagnetic simulation softwareAwareness of electronic degradation due to gamma and neutron radiationAdditional DetailsOccasional overtime may be requiredHands-on testing environment with exposure to advanced defense vehicle systemsCollaborative team environment with opportunities to grow EMI/EMC engineering expertiseWhy Join CPI?Exciting, research-driven projects with real-world impactOpportunities for ongoing learning and career developmentCompetitive perks and incentives tailored to each contract positionAbout Us:Contract Professionals, Inc.
