Student, Admissions Tour Guide, Part-time
OverviewAdmissions Tour Guides will support Admissions and various other offices by providing campus tours to and interacting with prospective students and their supporters. This position must be willing to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends for events such as Open House, Accepted Student Day, etc. may require some travel to other campuses with accommodations available if necessary. The College provides shirts and nametags that must be worn during specified tours, programs, and events QualificationsEDUCATIONMust be a Penn College student with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Required LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONSValid and in State Valid Driver's License. Preferred EXPERIENCEDemonstrated participation in clubs and organizations. Preferred Must be enrolled in at least one academic semester at Penn College prior to applying. Preferred ABILITIES AND SKILLSAbility to understand and follow verbal and written instruction. Required Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. Required Ability to work on own initiative. Required Must be willing and able to attend student development training as requested. Required Must possess a commitment to the College in helping students and the public. Required Ability to work collaboratively with peers and with professional staff. Required Ability to work with students with diverse backgrounds and needs. Required Familiarity with the Penn College environment as it relates to students. Required Ability and willingness to carry out responsibilities in a positive and timely manner. Required Functional ability with computers. Required ResponsibilitiesAttend Admissions Tour Guide Training Day and ongoing trainings. Uphold and publicly support the Student Code of Conduct and Admissions Office policies by observing and adhering to all College rules and regulations. Provide support and coverage of College programs/events that occur throughout the year. Provide campus tours for prospective students throughout the year for events including, but not limited to: Personal Tours, General Campus Tours, Group Tours, Open Houses, Accepted Student Day. Speak on student panels to share the student experience with prospective students and their supporters. Complete tasks as designated by the staff for on-campus events, such as: preparing giveaway packets, call campaigns, post-visit postcards, etc. Support the Admissions Office by assisting with phone queue coverage, returned mail, postcards, etc. Participate in Admissions Office and College wide social media and marketing activities. Carry out responsibilities in a positive, timely, and professional manner. Serve as a proper role model for prospective incoming first-year students and other students/peers. Be supportive of Penn College and its programs in action as well as theory and encourage students to participate in activities that enhance the College community. Be knowledgeable of the College's physical campus and policies as they relate to students. Be knowledgeable of College emergency procedures and act accordingly. Interact and communicate with College personnel on a regular basis. Assist in developing programs that will assist and benefit prospective students.
