Machine Operator - Tuber is responsible for providing technical assistance and directing the work flow for the employees in the cutting department and leading in the areas of safety, quality, engagement and continuous improvement. Job duties, responsibilities, and physical requirements are subject to change at any time and are considered all inclusive. Specific responsibilities include:Sewing / tubing material precisely with minimum supervision. Other duties as assigned. Minimal Skills, Knowledge and Ability RequirementsAbility to work cooperatively with others both within the department and externally. Technical knowledge of the processes and equipment with 2-3 years' related work experience in a manufacturing environment. High School or equivalent diploma is preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age or older. Communicate Effectively both verbally and in writing. Must be able to speak and understand English. Ability to add subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage. Ability to reach a tape measure. Ability to work a flexible schedule including mandatory overtime. Ability to read work orders. Industrial Sewing experience is a plus. Must have good hand dexterity as well as good hand and eye coordination. Must be able to listen and follow instructions precisely. Must be able to multitask. Ability to read a tape measured to 1/32nd of an inch. Strong organizational skills and attention to details. Exceptional time management skills with a sense of urgency. Maintain exceptional attendance. Must be conscientious, take initiative and be willing to assume responsibility. Ability to solve problems using formalized problem-solving techniques. Ability to understand basic processes and methodically improve them. Be self-motivated and have a strong desire to help others succeed in their job. Physical RequirementsEmployees should be able to lift, bend, and move to observe and direct the flow of work in a manufacturing environment with or without modifications. Frequent standing, sitting, walking, talking, or hearing, occasionally requiring stooping and/or kneeling, and may need to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
