Batch MixerThe Batch Mixer safely and efficiently manufactures chemical batches according to established formulas, quality standards, regulatory requirements, and standard operating procedures. This role troubleshoots process issues, supports continuous improvement, and serves as a technical resource for other batch makers. The position ensures the integrity of raw materials, equipment, documentation, and final product quality while maintaining strict compliance with internal procedures, customer specifications, and applicable regulations.ResponsibilitiesManufacture chemical batches by following established formulas, batch sheets, and standard operating procedures with a strong focus on safety and quality.Handle, measure, and mix raw materials accurately using scales, meters, temperature control systems, and material transfer equipment.Monitor batch processes, including temperatures, mixing times, and material additions, to ensure products meet required specifications.Troubleshoot process issues during batch production and make appropriate adjustments within defined parameters.Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying process inefficiencies and suggesting improvements to procedures or equipment use.Maintain the integrity of raw materials by following proper handling, storage, and labeling practices.Ensure equipment is used correctly and safely, and report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.Complete all required batch records and documentation accurately, legibly, and in a timely manner.Follow industrial safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to chemical handling guidelines.Collaborate with other batch makers and production team members, sharing knowledge and serving as a resource when needed.Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, as required to move raw materials and finished products.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with housekeeping and safety standards.Essential SkillsStrong understanding of chemical handling, mixing operations, and industrial safety protocols.Ability to read and interpret batch sheets, standard operating procedures, and technical documents.Proficiency in using scales, meters, temperature control systems, and material transfer equipment.Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow precise formulas and instructions.Demonstrated problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude in a production or compounding environment.Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work on feet for extended periods in an industrial setting.Ability to read and write English to accurately complete batch record documentation.Ability to perform basic math, including division, multiplication, addition, and subtraction.Knowledge of measurement conversions for powders and liquids.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with batch mixing, batch making, or compounding in a production or blending environment.Familiarity with operating forklifts or other material handling equipment.Experience working with blenders and other mixing or blending equipment in an industrial setting.Production, blending, or chemical processing environments.Why Work Here?Join a production environment that values safety, precision, and continuous improvement, where your technical skills directly contribute to product quality and customer satisfaction. You will work around mixing, blending, and compounding equipment, including scales, meters, temperature control systems, and material transfer equipment. The position requires standing and moving for extended periods, regularly lifting 50+ pounds, and working in areas that may be hot or cold depending on the process and season. Forklifts and other material handling equipment may be in use, and adherence to safety protocols and appropriate personal protective equipment is essential. The work setting emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and compliance with safety and operating procedures.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elgin, IL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $47840.00 - $52000.00/yr. Medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) plans with company matching, disability, paid time off, and potential bonuses.
