Working with us means you are making a difference within your community and beyond.About This RoleThis role involves supporting the seafood team by performing various duties such as counter service, stocking, and sanitation in the seafood department. Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate department signage and pricing. Keep back stock organized. Ensure a safe, clean and well-organized working and shopping environment. Assist with sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean and appealing. Clean cases, glass, signs, uprights, coolers, smokers, floors, and drains as required. Skin, bone, and cook or smoke fish; box up, label, and date cooked fish. Conduct periodic inventory checks. Arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work; work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings. Provide excellent customer service, address needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and model suggestive selling techniques; answer phones and pages promptly and courteously. Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product. Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices. Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to sell proactively. Basic knowledge of products carried in the department. Visually examine products for quality and freshness. Familiarize oneself on various products. Strong communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team. Deliver information clearly and respectfully to fellow team members, customers, and vendors. Meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions with customers, vendors, and team members. Follow directions and procedures; effective time management and organization skills. Passion for natural foods. Work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency. Understanding of WFM quality goals.
