Safety Coordinator

CaptiveAire is assisting Thales Academy, a growing network of private schools, in their search for a Safety Coordinator. This role will work with safety spanning all fourteen campus locations out of Raleigh, NC.Position SummaryThe School Safety Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive safety procedures across campus to support a safe, secure, and well-managed learning environment. With campuses in North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia, Thales provides students with a strong foundation to excel academically, develop strong character, and thrive in college, careers, and life.Primary Job ResponsibilitiesReports to the Director of SafetyOversee campus traffic flow, carpool operations, roadway safety, and crossing guard coordinationManage student driver safety protocols and campus parking policiesMonitor safety of playgrounds, outdoor spaces, and campus facilitiesDevelop and lead emergency management planning, including lockdown procedures, drills, and staff trainingEnforce visitor sign-in procedures and controlled access to school buildingsOversee classroom, lab, and shop equipment safety, including required training, student signoffs, and parent liability waiversEnsure safety protocols for field trips and offcampus activitiesCoordinate first aid readiness, injury reporting, and incident investigationsMaintain accurate and concise safety documentation, training records, and compliance materialsJob RequirementsBS degree in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent preferredExperience with site security, education settings, and emergency planningWilling to travel 10% to local NC sites for auditing and program roll out. Quarterly travel for 2 out of state campuses.Familiarity with private school safety practices and emergency response protocols in North CarolinaStrong organizational, communication, and training skillsAbility to work collaboratively with faculty, administrators, students, and familiesPhysical Requirements Ability to work standing for extended periods of time Required to use ladder, forklift or other means to acquire parts for product assembly Able to use power & hand tools, as well as electrical testing and measuring equipment Ability to lift 35 to 50 pounds independently BenefitsMedical, dental and vision insurance Disability & life insurance based upon election of medical insurancePaid time off401k with employer matchFlexible spending account (FSA)Salary: Salaries are determined by experience and qualificationsThales Academy is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
