JOB TITLE: BBB/21st CCLC AFTERSCHOOL COORDINATOR(4/7.5/8 hours/ 200/208 Days)REPORTS TO: BUILDING PRINCIPAL/Community Ed DirectorAPPROVED BY: BCBOE DATE:QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:Must have no convictions of a felony or past criminal history and be in good health, as evidenced by completing a physical examination as prescribed by the Board. Must be of good character and moral behavior, must possess a minimum of a GED certificate, and five years of field experience, specifically in the K-12 school setting, preferred.CRITICAL SKILL/EXPERTISE REQUIRED:Should possess:Creative strengths to provide innovative activitiesStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skillsESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Ability to:Work with all facets of the Barren County / Glasgow communityManage people and recordsEvaluate the success of programs and act accordinglySupervise students.RESPONSIBILITIES:ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Work with all facets of the Barren County communityManage staff and record-keeping on timeEvaluate the success of programs and act accordinglySupervise studentsProvide academic programs for remediation and enrichment - Target GroupsProvide recreational programsData management and presentation skillsExpand parent involvement and skill building ( 4 meetings per year)With teaching and administrative staff, plan and provide afterschool experiences in all events afterschool programs, classrooms, cafeteria, and community events (i.e., Family engagement nights, skill-building, 95210 family nights, food tasting events, National School Lunch Week, National School Breakfast Week, School Lunch Hero Day, Farm to Fork (Spring and Fall), Hog Roast, Even with Industry, Walk-A-Mile, Tower to Table, FFVP, and other special events, etc.)Staff-to-student ratio for studentsListening attentively to parents, staff, and students and keeping records of their comments, requests, and suggestions for the center.Managing and budgeting finance for the center.Have a good understanding of your center's geographic locations.Responsible for all equipment and inventory lists.Attending and monitoring all activities related to the district's after-school activities (4 districts, even and Saturday activities)Attending and monitoring all activities to ensure the center is running satisfactorily under all policies and processes.RESPONSIBILITIES:Increase parent involvement and skill-building at the district and school levelCoordinate summer enrichment and remediation activitiesInitiate new community partnershipsOversee the after-school programCollaborate with the District Afterschool Coordinator/Director of Transportation to coordinate the center's transportation needs, adhering to BCBOE transportation policies.Collaborate with the FRYSC Directors and Assistants in addition to Community Education and other federal programs.Initiate transitional activities to allow for a seamless transition for students.Create and manage engaging programs and informational environments for parents and students.Coordinate purchasing materials and servicesMaintain accurate financial recordsMaintain accurate statistical information regarding the program's success, including attendance records and center offerings.Investigate and respond to incoming communications.Facilitate communication among all school and community partnersVisit the homes of students and parents if neededFacilitate home-school communicationProvide direct supervision of students when necessaryMonitor and maintain accurate records and reports regarding attendance, discipline, and assessment results to determine the effect on the participantsFacilitate and participate in yearly evaluations of staff in collaboration with the District Afterschool CoordinatorComplete any other tasks assigned by the Superintendent or designee, building principal, and Community Education Director.Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with school district staff, public officials, private sector officials, parents, and community leadersComplete any other tasks assigned by the Superintendent or designee, building principal, and Community Education Director.Maintain a record of educational events, including activity results or rosters, lesson plans, daily schedules, press releases, and additional information.Familiarity with quality criteria for after-school programsExperience working with low-income, underserved school youthMonthly Newsletter and PR posts, posters, and flyersAvailability to work occasionally on evenings or weekends for field trips and special eventsADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Will be required to complete all required training and attend in-service sessions as specified in the grant or as communicated by KDE or Start Licensed Childcare.Performs assigned tasks on time.Consistently displays self-control with parents, students, and school personnel.Maintains a clean workstation (school area, desk, office, etc.) and does maintenance as needed.Be clean, neat, and appropriately dressed.Be consistently responsible and demonstrate honesty and credibility.Demonstrate enthusiasm, interest, and concern for the overall program and its effective operation.Maintains student control.Safely operate equipment at all times.Demonstrate positive behavior toward the purposes and goals of the Barren County Public Schools.Maintain regular and punctual attendance.Travel occasionally to off-site meetings, training, and eventsPerform other duties as assigned.Provide day-to-day oversight of programs and after-school staff.Ensure that Asst. Coordinators are developing high-quality programming by collecting and reviewing lesson plans for content and effective planning.Acquire and manage program equipment, materials/supplies, and facilitiesMonitor student behavior on-site during program hours and utilize appropriate disciplinary measures as necessaryMaintain student participation and attendance throughout the year via recruitment and retention activities, including student voice and choice engagement strategiesDevelop and thoroughly understand the school site budget and any grant compliance requirementsResearch and align effective program partnerships and collaborations to ensure that partner expectations are metCheck email and text messages daily to ensure that program updates and communications are reviewed and responded to on timeManage the end-of-session celebrations and the monthly newsletterManage the end-of-year showcase/culminating event to close out the programConduct regular staff meetings with the District Afterschool Coordinator (weekly or every other week)Meet with the site principal every month.Required to take all mandatory training.Ability to be at the assigned school site on Mondays-Friday, 8 hours or 4 hours from approximately 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm or 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm (hours may be flexible).21st CCLC Coordinator:Ensure each center provides a scope of instruction focused on ALL student academic goals.Provide recreational and academic enrichment activities for students.Oversee student, parent, and partner surveys.Meet or exceed Average Daily Attendance (ADA) goals throughout the year.Maintain weekly attendance and program activity CAYEN.21st CCLC coordination with the Data Coordinator, implement Assessment at the designated school site-observations occur twice a year (in the Fall and Spring).BBB Coordinator:Provide training and technical staff assistance.Billing responsibilities for weekly billingResponsible for CCAP parents' update paperwork.Reviewing billing and approving weekly student payments.Maintain daily data input for attendance using BrightWheel and ensure that student records and attendance data are maintained accuratelyTERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:The work year comprises the number of days designated by the current school calendar and board policy.Salary commensurate with the classified salary schedule.Sick/personal leave and holidays are provided as stated in the board policy.The employee is an "at-will" employee, and the superintendent may terminate this employment at any time.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:Pay commensurate with the position of BBB/21st CCLC Afterschool Coordinator with a contracted time of 4/7.5/8 hours for 200/208 days in the contracted year.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:This position may involve lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, standing, walking, and talking. Must be able to demonstrate and describe activities to youth. Youth development can be physically and emotionally taxing, as workers constantly stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift (25 pounds frequently) to attend to each member's interests and problems.EVALUATION:The performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on the Evaluation of Classified Personnel.
