Job Description Shipping and Receiving Clerk:Core Responsibilities:Receiving & Inspection: Accepting incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders or manifests, and checking for damage or discrepancies.Shipping & Packaging: Preparing items for dispatch by packing, weighing, labeling, and arranging transportation with carriers like FedEx or UPS.Inventory Management: Tracking stock levels, updating warehouse management systems (WMS), and organizing items in designated storage areas.Documentation: Generating and maintaining records such as bills of lading (BOL), invoices, packing slips, and delivery receipts.Equipment Operation: Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks.Crate Building: Fabrication of basic wooden crates for freight shipments and other materials as needed.Delivery and Pickup: Delivery of finished products to customer job sites and picking up customer supplied parts.Key Skills and Qualifications:The role requires standing for long periods and regularly lifting between 50 to 100 pounds.Essential for ensuring the accuracy of shipments, documentation, and inventory counts.Experience with basic tools, able to read a measuring tape, and knowledge of typical power and hand tools.Good driving record and valid driver license.High school diploma or GEDForklift certified preferred but will train employeeProficiency in basic software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets) and industry-specific ERP or shipping platforms.
