In addition, it sells its products under brand names licensed to the company, including adidas, Wolford, Wilson, Columbia, Tommy Hilfiger and others.Role OverviewThe Inventory Cost Accountant is responsible for managing and analyzing inventory costs, supporting accurate financial reporting, and participating in the month-end close process. This role ensures the integrity of inventory valuation, monitors cost variances, and partners with operations and supply chain teams to improve cost efficiency and internal controls.Responsibilities:Participate in month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and inventory-related accrualsMonitor and investigate inventory variances (purchase price variance, scrap, and obsolescence)Reconcile inventory subledger to general ledger and resolve discrepancies in a timely mannerSupport physical inventory counts and cycle counts; analyze results and ensure proper adjustments are recordedReview and maintain inventory reserves (excess and obsolete inventory)Collaborate with operations, procurement, and production teams to ensure accurate cost data and inventory transactionsAssist in the development and documentation of internal controls related to inventory and costing processesSupport audit requests (internal and external) by providing documentation and explanationsPrepare and analyze reports related to inventory valuation, cost of goods sold, and gross marginRequirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldMinimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in inventory or cost accountingStrong understanding of inventory accounting principles and cost accounting methodologies (standard costing, FIFO, etc.)Experience with SAP ERP systems and advanced Excel skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detailAbility to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentEffective communication skills and ability to collaborate across departmentsThis a hybrid role, with 4 days in our Montoursville, PA office DIVERSITY VISION STATEMENT: We are committed to creating an inclusive environment that welcomes and values the differences among all of our associates, customers, suppliers, and the communities in which we live and conduct business.
