The Contractor will handle day-to-day construction activities, including site preparation, framing, repairs, installation, and finishing work according to project plans and building codes. Responsibilities include reading and interpreting blueprints or work orders, coordinating with other trades, and ensuring that materials and tools are used efficiently. The Contractor will monitor job site safety, maintain a clean work area, and communicate project status and needs to supervisors or clients. The role also involves troubleshooting issues on site, completing work within timelines and budgets, and documenting progress or changes as needed.Qualifications Demonstrated experience in residential and/or light commercial construction, including hands-on work with repairs, renovations, or rebuilds.Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, or specifications and follow written and verbal instructions accurately.Knowledge of applicable building codes, safety standards, and best practices for construction job sites.Proficiency with common construction tools and equipment, with a strong focus on safe operation and maintenance.Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing project needs.Reliable transportation to job sites in and around Winston-Salem, NC, and willingness to work in various weather conditions.Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with team members, supervisors, and clients in a respectful, professional manner.High school diploma or equivalent; trade school training, certifications, or licenses (e.g., general contractor, specialty trade) are a plus.Ability to perform the physical aspects of the role, such as lifting materials, working at heights, and standing or moving for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
