Production Supervisor

Job DetailsDescriptionResponsible for supervising all aspects of the production floor from fabrication to assembly. Assists with planning, organizing, leading, and controlling manufacturing operations, supply chain, production, quality, inventory management, receiving, service parts fulfillment, shipping, and facility maintenance with a goal of ensuring customer commitments are met for quality and timely delivery. Serves as backup to the Production Manager.Essential FunctionsSupports the implementation of Lanco manufacturing operations systems.Assists the production manager with the development of operations goals and objectives in alignment with company goals and objectives with an emphasis on quality, cost reductions, and productivity improvements.Assists the production manager with daily and monthly production plans and monitors performance against plan. Has the autonomy to act when output does not meet expectation.Help develop robust processes for quality control with the aim of providing an avenue for continuous improvement in quality and productivity.Enforces all aspects of workplace organization with the goal of providing a safe and efficient work environment for all employees. Ensures compliance in all safety, health, and environmental regulations, policies, and procedures for a goal of zero incidents and injuries.Special projects or work assigned by the production manager.Communicate consistently on all activities to appropriate individuals while adhering to all company policies to eliminate and/or reduce exposure to liability.Has authority to manage employees’ performance and timekeeping as necessary.Will train new and existing employees as required.Evaluates opportunities for improvements and launches initiatives for improvement in accordance with the continuous improvement program.Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesAbility to lead and manage several projects simultaneously.Thorough knowledge of applicable operating and documentation procedures and material flow.Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel) and additional data systems.Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions, work rules, and procedures.Ability to prioritize, organize, solve problems, and work independently.Ability to lead, supervise, and train others. Education And ExperienceRequired: High school diploma or equivalent with 7+ years of related experience.Desired: Four year degree or technical certificate with 10+ years’ experience as a supervisor in manufacturing with a knowledge of lean manufacturing processes.Work EnvironmentThis is a production classification and employees work in a factory or warehouse environment with exposure to noise and machinery. The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials. May be requested to work overtime and weekends.Physical DemandsEmployee’s workstation is on the production floor with exposure to noise and machinery.
