Buyer (Bergen County)
LHH is partnering with a client to hire a Procurement Buyer for a full-time, hybrid opportunity within a manufacturing environment. This role offers strong visibility across operations and the opportunity to drive procurement strategy and supply chain efficiency. The Procurement Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing raw materials, components, equipment, and other goods required to support day-to-day operations. This role ensures materials are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards while driving efficient, cost-effective procurement processes.Responsibilities:Manage end-to-end procurement by reviewing MRP data and issuing purchase orders for raw materials, components, and indirect suppliesNegotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to secure cost-effective supplier agreementsOversee vendor performance, ensuring quality, reliability, and on-time deliveryMonitor inventory levels to balance supply, minimize shortages, and control excess stockTrack and expedite orders, resolving delays and discrepancies related to invoicing, shipments, or damaged goodsMaintain accurate purchasing data within ERP systems (pricing, lead times, item details)Partner cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and planning teams to support production and new product initiativesIdentify opportunities to improve procurement processes and drive cost efficienciesProvide backup support for planning/scheduling and assist with broader operational needs as requiredEnsure compliance with company policies, effectively manage priorities, and maintain professional communication with internal and external stakeholdersQualifications:Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentHigh level of integrity and professionalismStrong written and verbal communication skillsDetail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skillsBachelor's degree requiredAdditional technical training, certification, or equivalent experience preferred3+ years of purchasing experience within a manufacturing or operations environment***MRO / indirect procurement experience is required**Hands-on SAP experience is required**Proven supplier negotiation experience is required**Experience with inventory control and supply chain processesProven experience managing vendor relationships and supplier performanceProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Strong written and verbal communication skillsBilingual English/Spanish is a plusSalary range is $75-85K, a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401K, PTO and paid holidays.Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/DisabledTo read our Candidate Privacy Information Statement, which explains how we will use your information, please navigate to https://www.lhh.com/us/en/candidate-privacyThe Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements.Extended Fair Chance Language (Use When Applicable)Including, as applicable:• The California Fair Chance Act• Los Angeles City Fair Chance Ordinance• Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers• San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance
