Accounts Payable Specialist

The Accounts Payable Specialist will support the goals and effective functioning of the Accounts Payable and Accounting teams by ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, check requests, and expenses, effective and proactive resolution to vendor and company inquiries and disputes, and thorough, deadline-driven reporting and communication both internally and externally. Success in this position requires strict adherence to deadlines, superb communication skills, and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities: · Process accounts payable invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies and procedures · Review invoices for proper coding, approvals, and documentation · Prepare and process weekly check runs or electronic payments · Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies · Maintain accurate vendor records in the accounting system · Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely manner · Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable · Contribute to research and analysis projects and improvement initiatives as required · Collaborate with other departments to resolve any invoice discrepancies or issues · Assist with other accounting duties as assigned Qualifications: · Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. · Direct experience with accounts payable, data entry, or other accounting functions. · Experience with complex data systems, aptitude for new and uncommon software, and proficiency with common data tools such as Excel. · Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
