Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in accounting processes, and supporting month-end close activities. This position is based in Long Beach, California, and offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and growing organization in the construction industry.Responsibilities:- Perform data entry for accounts payable transactions with precision and efficiency.- Review and audit employee expense reports to ensure compliance before converting them into accounts payable invoices.- Manage monthly check runs, ensuring timely and accurate processing.- Oversee and reconcile American Express transactions, including auditing receipts and resolving discrepancies.- Execute month-end close processes, including closing the accounts payable subledger within established deadlines.- Assist in preparing and recording accrual journal entries to support financial reporting.- Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.- Support corporate tax and sales tax preparation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable, general ledger management, and financial reporting.- Strong knowledge of corporate tax and sales tax regulations.- Expertise in preparing and recording journal entries with attention to detail.- Familiarity with corporate tax return preparation processes.- Demonstrated ability to handle month-end close procedures, including subledger reconciliations and accruals.- Proficiency in auditing and reconciling expense reports and credit card transactions.- Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet strict deadlines.- Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
