Industrial Project Engineer

Payrate: $50.00 - $52.00/hr. Summary:We are seeking an experienced Industrial Project Engineer to lead and optimize manufacturing operations within a large-scale production environment. This role serves as a technical and operational leader focused on end-to-end process flow, throughput optimization, workforce alignment, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will drive operational excellence through process design, lean methodologies, and cross-functional collaboration while supporting digital transformation efforts. Key Responsibilities:Design, analyze, and optimize end-to-end material and process flows across manufacturing value streams.Drive throughput improvements by reducing work-in-progress (WIP), minimizing lead times, and eliminating bottlenecks.Lead value stream mapping initiatives and implement future-state process flow improvements.Monitor and improve key operational metrics, including throughput, on-time delivery, lead time, and capacity utilization.Lead digital transformation efforts, including production KPI digitization and integration of autonomous technologies/robotics.Develop and optimize staffing models, labor utilization plans, and workforce alignment to meet production demand.Serve as a lead engineering resource, influencing cross-functional teams to improve productivity, process flow, and operational performance.Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives using structured problem-solving methodologies such as A3 and DMAIC.Partner closely with production, supply chain, maintenance, finance, and quality teams to align materials, staffing, and operational priorities.Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement sustainable solutions to enhance manufacturing performance.Team Structure & Work EnvironmentCollaborate with a team of approximately four Industrial Engineers.Work cross-functionally with teams including Production, Finance, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Quality.Operate within a large-scale production facility with multiple manufacturing machines and systems.Fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement. Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.8-10 years of experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, operations, or related fields.Internship experience will not be considered toward required years of experience.Required Technical SkillsCapacity Planning & Management (Manufacturing): Ability to determine production demand and manage resources to meet operational targets.Project Management: Proven ability to plan, organize, monitor, and execute technical projects efficiently.Lean Manufacturing: Strong understanding and practical application of lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.Problem Solving & Decision Making: Ability to identify, assess, and resolve operational and process challenges while making sound business decisions.Experience with Power Apps for workflow automation.Strong data analytics skills with the ability to generate actionable insights.Working knowledge of AI tools and technologies for operational efficiency.Leadership and team guidance experience in a manufacturing setting.MODAPTS certification preferred/required based on business needs.Working knowledge of CAD software. Soft Skills:Strong negotiation and influencing skills.Ability to thrive in ambiguous and fast-changing environments.Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management capabilities.Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills.Results-driven mindset with a focus on operational excellence.Success Metrics / Performance Indicators Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $50.00 - $52.00 /hr. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience.
