Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; notes all changes in physician orders for assigned patients. Assists physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures/treatments. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients; observes physiological manifestations and intervenes when necessary. Administers medications as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently and in accordance with established nursing standards. Collaborates with patients and families regarding care plans during hospitalization and discharge planning. Educates patients and families on hospital procedures and treatment plans. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel and departments. Delegates tasks appropriately to support staff. Performs additional duties as assigned. Required Skills & ExperienceKnowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures. Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services. Ability to apply nursing techniques effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain positive working relationships. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. Basic computer proficiency and electronic medical record (EMR) experience. Minimum 5 years of Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience in a Level 1 Trauma setting required. Minimum 2 years of travel nursing experience required. Preferred Skills & ExperiencePrevious experience in high-acuity maternal/newborn environments preferred. Experience with fetal monitoring and emergency obstetric care preferred. EducationRequired EducationAssociate’s degree in nursing (ADN) from an accredited school of nursing. Preferred EducationBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program. Required Certifications & LicensureCurrent RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing OR current multistate compact RN License (eNLC). Basic Life Support (BLS). Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association. Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Certification. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Advanced Provider OR NRP Instructor certification.
