Low Volt Cable Technician

Job Description We are currently seeking a Low Voltage Cable Technician to join our team! This is a field-based position working on commercial construction and technology infrastructure projects in a fast-paced environment supporting large-scale commercial installations. This role is ideal for motivated individuals looking to grow with a world-class electrical contractor.ResponsibilitiesInstall, pull, route, and terminate low voltage cabling for commercial projectsWork with Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic, coaxial, and other communication cabling systemsInstall, terminate, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cabling systemsInstall and configure access control systems including door hardware, badge readers, strikes, and control panelsInstall, mount, and service CCTV/security camera systems and related equipmentAssist with installation and support of structured cabling systems, data racks, patch panels, cable trays, and support systemsPerform cable testing, labeling, certification, and troubleshooting of low voltage systemsRead and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, floor plans, and low voltage schematicsMaintain production quality standards and meet project deadlinesAssist with material handling, inventory organization, and jobsite cleanlinessFollow all company safety standards, procedures, and quality control requirementsCollaborate with project managers, foremen, and installation teams to ensure efficient workflowQualifications:Previous low voltage, data cabling, telecommunications, or security system experience preferredExperience pulling and terminating Cat5/Cat6 cable preferredExperience with fiber optic installation, termination, and testing preferredFamiliarity with CCTV/security systems and access control installations preferredFamiliarity with low voltage hand tools, power tools, cable testers, and installation equipmentAbility to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagramsStrong work ethic with the ability to work in a fast-paced construction environmentReliable attendance and ability to work overtime as neededStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipAbility to work on ladders, lifts, and in commercial construction environmentsMust be able to pass a background check and 10-panel drug screenWhat We Offer:Opportunity to join a respected, world-class contractorConsistent hours with overtime potentialHands-on experience in commercial low voltage, fiber optic, and security system installationsTemp-to-hire pathway with long-term growth opportunitiesTeam-oriented work environment with high expectations and strong supportCompany DescriptionWe consider applicants for all positions without regard to race, color, religion, creed, gender, national origin, age, disability, marital or veteran status, or any other legally protected status.
