Tapper Operator
In this role, you will be responsible for the manufacturing and quality of parts using the tapper production machines, as well as performing basic maintenance activities and working in coordination with all safety standards and requirements.Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.Duties and Responsibilities: Setup and operate a variety of tapper machines to produce quality products Plan and perform close tolerance setups with little or no assistanceSet up repetitive jobs requiring close toleranceUse scales, micrometers, dial indicators and fixed gauges to do checks and gauge workLubricate and make adjustments or repairs to maintain equipmentStart machine, observe operations, and inspect first run and sample work piece to ensure machining conforms to specificationsResponsible for the loading and unloading of the product wash equipmentReview the work and assist other operators as necessary to ensure proper work instructions and quality procedures are being followedWork with engineering and/or maintenance to resolve specific machine, tooling, setup problems that may ariseSet up machines, and stack, mark, pack, and transport finished product with HiLo – weight out and tag productPerform the necessary safety requirements to avoid injury to self or fellow employeesHousekeeping – maintain a clean and safe working environmentEnsure preparation and implementation of the EHS policy is adhered to and followedKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:An understanding of fastener joining technology is preferredGood communication skillsSelf-motivated and able to work to a high standard with minimal supervisionEducation and Experience:3 to 5 years of previous production experience in the manufacturing industry preferredHigh School diploma or GEDERP (SAP) experience preferredCold Heading, Tapping and Thread Rolling experience preferredExperience with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
