Licensed Massage Therapist
At Starting Line we strive to provide individualized care and treat each of our clients with respect and understanding for our client’s needs and preferences. You would be working along side a collaborative group of other practitioners (massage and physical therapy) and personal trainers. We work with a highly active population that is primarily made up of runners of all levels.
Responsibilities of Massage Therapist
Review client intake form prior to massage and review any concerns or areas of focus prior to massage with client
Demonstrate professionalism, respect, and empathy for client’s needs
Practice Universal Health Care protocols while treating clients
Learn and proficiently use JaneApp Booking System for rescheduling and checking clients out
Provide 24 hour cancellation
Maintain schedule and hours as discussed
Maintain necessary documentation for client visits
Duties of Massage Therapist
Provide therapeutic massages to relieve pain, reduce stress, and promote relaxation
Utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology to target specific muscle groups and alleviate tension. You may incorporate any specialized techniques that you are trained in
Ability to assess patients' conditions and determine appropriate massage therapy techniques to treat clients' specific needs and conditions
Maintain a tidy and well stocked massage room
Assist with wash/dry/fold laundry of massage sheets and towels used as needed
Attend Quarterly Staff Meetings
Actively market yourself (in addition to Starting Line promoting massage services)
Demonstrate respect, cooperation, and consideration towards clients and co-workers
Demonstrate dependability and flexibility with work schedule
Educate clients on self-care techniques and exercises to enhance the benefits of massage therapy
Qualifications
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience
Valid certification or license as a Massage Therapist in the State of Maine
CPR Certified
Proficient in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
Strong knowledge of various massage techniques
Experience in pain management
Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient care and satisfaction
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $35.00 - $55.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 15 per week
