Job Description We have on position open for Controller. This person can work from our office in Tampa, FL, Kennesaw, GA, Jacksonville, FL - Work from any of these locations hybrid- about 3 days in the office and 2 at home office.Position OverviewReporting to the CFO, the Controller leads all accounting and financial operations, with primary responsibility for project-based financial management in Deltek Vantagepoint. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, disciplined revenue recognition, and real-time visibility into project performance, including utilization, labor efficiency, and profitability. The Controller partners closely with leadership and project managers to drive financial accountability and operational performance. We are acquiring companies so this person will be key in integrating ERPs and financials.What You'll DoOwn monthly close, financial reporting, and GAAP complianceLead all Deltek system administration (project setup, billing terms, revenue methods, reporting)Oversee project accounting, including WIP, revenue recognition, and profitability trackingDrive utilization and labor performance metrics across the firmPartner with Project Controls and Project Managers on budgets, forecasts, and financial performancePartner with Sr. Accounting Manager to oversee billing, AR/AP, and cash flow managementLead budgeting, forecasting, and backlog reportingManage audits, tax coordination, and financial controlsDevelop and mentor accounting team; train PMs on financial best practicesWhat Success Looks Like (Key Metrics)Accurate, timely close (within defined timeframe)Meet Direct Labor Utilization rates around 80%Meet Net MultipliersHelp control DSOHigh WIP accuracy and minimal write-offsReliable revenue forecasting and backlog visibilityStrong project margin performanceWhat You BringBachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance (MBA, Masters, CPA preferred)10+ years of progressive experience, including leadershipAccounting experience in an engineering services/consulting companyDeep expertise with Deltek Vantagepoint preferred, or other ERP requiredStrong knowledge of:Project-based accounting & WIPRevenue recognition (T&M, % complete, fixed fee)Utilization and project performance metricsAdvanced Excel and financial analysis skillsExperience with acquisitions and integrating ERPs or experience implementing ERP systemsWhy This Role MattersThis role is critical to ensuring financial discipline and transparency in a project-driven environment.
