Service Truck Operators. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Large Meter Crew Members to join our dynamic utility services team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing large utility meters that measure water consumption. Your expertise will help ensure accurate readings and reliable service for our customers. Duties
Install, inspect, and repair large utility meters using appropriate hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as crane trucks and hoists
Perform utility locating to identify underground cables and infrastructure before digging or excavation
Conduct field service activities including troubleshooting meter issues, replacing faulty components, and calibrating meters for accuracy
Repair or replace cabling, connectors, and other hardware to ensure proper meter operation
Operate crane trucks safely for typically confined space meter installations in vaults. Some installations and work are located inside of buildings.
Document all work performed accurately in service logs and reports while adhering to safety protocols
Professionalism to our customers is a must.
Requirements
Proven experience working as part of a large meter crew or similar field service team in utility or water industries
Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools effectively
Familiarity with utility locating techniques and equipment to identify underground cables before work begins
Ability to operate bucket trucks safely and efficiently for elevated installations or repairs
Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and report work progress accurately
Nice-to-have skills include proficiency in utility locating methods, equipment repair capabilities, water meter service background, mechanical aptitude, familiarity with field service operations, experience with hand tools and power tools, knowledge of low voltage systems, bucket truck operation certification and high impact air tools. This is a paid position committed to safety, quality workmanship, and professional growth.
Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
