Special Education Teacher (SY 24-25)

Responsibilities: Collaborate with building administrators, general education, and special education teachers to ensure students are included in the least restrictive environment. Serve as the special education representative on building leadership, IEP, and intervention teams. Attend monthly leadership meetings with building and district administration, and follow up with staff. Work with the Special Education Supervisor and building administration to implement corrective action plans. Demonstrate data-based decision making. Manage Due Process and ensure Compliance. Act as an instructional leader to improve academic and behavioral outcomes for students on IEPs. Support teams and students in implementing behavior support plans and crisis response strategies. Lead Special Education Department and Paraeducator meetings. Communicate, train, and support staff on changes in special education processes or procedures. Participate in interview teams for special education staff recruitment. Provide training and coaching to special education staff. Assist in scheduling coordination for Paraeducators and students. Support the transition of new students into special education. Coordinate Child Study Meetings. Assist with budgetary processes for equipment, supplies, field trips, etc. Qualifications: Requires an EC/SE license or related service license. Experience in Early Childhood Special Education is preferred. Must hold a Tier 3 or Tier 4 license.
