AWS Java Developer
Role Title: AWS Java Developer
Location: DC Metro – Hybrid
Clearance: US Citizen / Public Trust
Pay: $90/hr on 1099 / C2C on 12-month contract
Overview
We are seeking an AWS Support Developer to act as a technical bridge between our federal customer and Amazon Web Services (AWS). You will be responsible for supporting, debugging and optimizing cloud application architectures. You will optimize code, implement APIs, ensure security compliance, and resolve service-level disruptions to maintain high availability within the AWS ecosystem.
What you will do:
· Serve as a primary contact for customers to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AWS services, APIS, and SDK configuration, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
· Write and debug application code to improve system performance, scalability, and security
· Create and maintain Python-based AWS Lambda functions to power backend integrations with RDS databases and API Gateway endpoints.
· Conduct integration tests and AWS code reviews to ensure quality and compliance with security standards.
· Monitor cloud infrastructure and make actionable recommendations for improvement
· Partner with development, security, and operations teams to solve bugs and improve product design while ensuring solutions are scalable, secure and cost-effective
What you must have:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
· 3+ years of experience in Python and Java programming over AWS Lambda APIs
· 5+ years of experience with AWS infrastructure such and EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, and EKS/ECS
· 5+ years of experience with Linux/Unix or Windows Server Administration
· Familiarity with automating deployment using tools like CloudFormation or Terraform
· Experience integrating GitLab or GitHub with AWS CodePipeline and CI/CD delivery modes
· Strong verbal and written skills to collaborate with both technical teams and business stakeholders
· Excellent troubleshooting skills for distributed systems and network connectivity issues
· US Citizenship
Nice to have:
· Active AWS Certification: AWS Certified Developer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
· Familiarity with Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes
Pay: $90.00 per hour
