DOT Cement Equipment Specialist

This career site is for external applicants only.Job DescriptionJob Summary The DOT Cement Equipment Specialist operates and maintains equipment used in the cement job, performs vehicle and equipment inspections, maintains proper daily documentation of equipment, and performs rig up and rig down operations.ResponsibilitiesOperate and maintain equipment used in the cement job (i.e., cement bulk equipment, pump truck, field bins, and semi-trailers)Comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations (keep accurate driver’s log, submit driver’s log daily, accurately report mileage and fuel, and obey hours of service policies)Perform vehicle and equipment inspections to ensure proper fluid levels, functioning brakes, working lights, and safe tire conditionMaintain proper daily documentation of equipment and report any defective equipment to proper personnelPerform rig up and rig down operationsAssist with the housekeeping on location before, during, and after the jobConduct proper Job Safety Analysis (JSA) in compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) and organization policyMaintain compliance with all HSE policies by attending required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)Perform other related duties as assignedJob QualificationsClass A CDL RequiredMaintain a valid CDL and clean driving record requiredHazmat endorsements preferredAble to drive commercial trucks and other vehicles with a manual transmissionFamiliarity with Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations requiredAble to pass a DOT pre-employment drug test and physical examination requiredAble to pass a road test requiredAble to operate both manual and automatic transmissions requiredAble to perform pre- and post-trip CMV inspection requiredMust be familiar with electronic logging devicesDemonstrate the ability to work well with others, and work independently when requiredDemonstrate clear communication skills and the ability to interact with employees in the field and at all levels of the organizationAble to promptly follow verbal and written directions in EnglishMust be able to work closely with others and under time-sensitive deadlines, including potential emergency response situationsMust be physically able to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crawl, walk on uneven surfaces, and climb equipment ladders or stairs throughout the work shiftAble to safely operate and maintain assigned equipment during a 12+ hour work shift that will include days or nights, weekends, and holidaysAble to perform duties safely in all weather conditionsAble to lift 25 lbs. over your head and up to 50 lbs. safelyCan sit and stand on your feet for extended timePhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here represent those required for an employee to successfully perform the role’s essential functions.
