The ideal candidate will have a strongbackground in database administration, with a focus on ensuring the availability, performance, andsecurity of our data infrastructure. Detailed Job DescriptionResponsibilities:Database Performance & Tuning:·      Perform proactive monitoring, tuning, and optimization of PostgreSQL databases.·      Identify performance bottlenecks and implement corrective actions. Database Deployment & Maintenance:·      Plan, design, and implement PostgreSQL instances in AWS (RDS, Aurora, EC2-based).·      Manage database upgrades, patching, and configuration changes. Security & Compliance:·      Implement and maintain robust database security policies, including user management, access·      control, and encryption.·      Ensure compliance with organizational security standards and industry regulations. Backup & Recovery:·      Develop and manage backup, disaster recovery (DR), and failover strategies.·      Perform regular recovery testing to ensure data integrity and availability. Collaboration & Support:·      Work closely with application and development teams to optimize SQL queries, indexing, and·      schema design.·      Provide production support and troubleshoot database-related issues. Database Migration:·      Lead Oracle to PostgreSQL migration projects, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.·      Provide guidance on migration strategy, tools, and best practices. Required Qualifications & Skills·      7+ years of proven experience as a PostgreSQL DBA, preferably in large-scale enterprise·      environments.·      Strong expertise in PostgreSQL architecture, administration, and performance tuning.·      Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL on AWS Cloud (RDS, Aurora, EC2).·      Proficiency in SQL, PL/pgSQL, and database management tools.·      Solid knowledge of backup and recovery mechanisms, replication, and high availability.·      Experience in database security implementation (authentication, encryption, auditing).·      Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.·      Prior experience with Oracle-to-Postgres migration projects. Preferred Qualifications·      Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation) for database·      deployment.·      Familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB) as complementary·      systems.·      Exposure to containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) for database deployment.·      Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline integration with databases.·      PostgreSQL certification (e.g., EDB PostgreSQL Associate/Professional) is a plus. Soft Skills·      Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset with attention to detail.·      Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.·      Excellent communication skills for interacting with developers, architects, and business·      stakeholders.·      Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
