Proposal Engineer
Equity Staffing Group is seeking a Proposal Engineer to join a dynamic and collaborative team supporting engineered product proposals and customer solutions. This role is responsible for providing bid and proposal support to the sales team through technical evaluations, cost estimating, proposal preparation, and project coordination. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering competitive solutions that drive business growth.Proposal PreparationManage, coordinate, and support assigned budgetary and firm proposals requiring an EvapTech responseDevelop and implement proposal strategies alongside management and Business Development ManagersCoordinate with internal and external teams to estimate labor, material, and freight costsEstablish bid pricing using company pricing guidelines and management reviewReview customer technical and commercial specifications with internal stakeholdersBusiness Development SupportDevelop proposal scopes that highlight company strengths and meet customer expectationsAttend customer meetings and pre-bid job walks as needed to gather project informationSupport sales initiatives by providing technical and commercial insight during the bidding processDatabase & ReportingMaintain the accuracy of the Quote Database and support sales forecasting and budgeting effortsCreate and maintain accurate entries in the Tower Reference LibraryPost-Award SupportEnsure a smooth transition from proposal development to project management phasesAssist Project Management teams in resolving scope or contract expectation conflictsPrepare inspection reports with construction and management support to determine recommended repairsServe as Project Manager on inspection projects without material scope of supplyTechnical Design & Engineering SupportPrepare thermal selections and performance predictions for standard counterflow and crossflow cooling towersUtilize StarDM software and fan vendor software to support technical selections and proposal accuracyMinimum QualificationsBackground in technical or engineering product applicationsStrong verbal and written communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsExcellent organizational and time management skillsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or related field with strong math/science coursework0–5 years of experience in Proposal Management, Project Management, or Application SalesPreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree from an ABET/EAC accredited program or recognized equivalentExperience in application sales for capital or engineered productsFamiliarity with contracts and commercial termsPrior experience within the cooling tower industryAt Equity Staffing Group, we connect talented professionals with industry-leading organizations where they can grow and make an impact.
