FlexSteel embodies teamwork, focusing on hiring top talent and developing its employees.Under the direction of the Materials Supervisor, loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near the plant, yard, or work site by performing the following duties:Unload incoming shipments using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucksCheck deliveries for accuracy (quantity, part numbers, condition)Match items to purchase orders, packing slips, and invoicesDocument discrepancies (shortages, overages, damages)Enter receipts into inventory or ERP systemsLabel and route received items to the appropriate departmentsPick, pack, and stage outgoing ordersCreate shipping labels, bills of lading, and other paperworkVerify items against sales or shipping ordersEnsure proper packaging to prevent damage in transitLoad shipments onto trucks or railcars, ensuring secure placementMaintain accurate stock levels through data entryTrack and record movement of materials in and out of the warehouseHelp organize and maintain storage and staging areasAlert supervisors to low stock or inventory discrepanciesUse inventory, WMS, or ERP systemsMaintain shipping and receiving logsProcess returns, RMAs (Return Merchandise Authorizations), and restocksCommunicate with purchasing, sales, and logistics teamsOperate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipmentFollow OSHA and company safety guidelinesReport any equipment malfunctions or safety hazardsKeep shipping and receiving areas clean and hazard-freeLiaise with carriers, drivers, and delivery personnelResolve shipping issues (missed pickups, incorrect deliveries)Coordinate with internal departments on urgent orders or special shipmentsOther duties as assigned.NoneMust have a High School Diploma or equivalent.At least one (1) year of relevant experience in a forward-thinking manufacturing environment is preferred.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Must possess the ability to read and understand load Sheets, locations, and differentiate between similar parts.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.Must have the ability to work effectively with company personnel and customers.Must be insurable by the company's insurance carrier.
