Title: Sustaining Engineer (Electrical)Type: FTE, Salaried ExemptLocation: Onsite (Manufacturing Environment)Wright Technical Services is supporting a leading manufacturing organization in their search for a Sustaining Engineer to support product performance, reliability, and continuous improvement across advanced welding and plasma cutting systems.This role is focused on post-launch product lifecycle support, including troubleshooting, design improvements, and validation efforts. The engineer will work cross-functionally to enhance product quality, reliability, and manufacturability while supporting both production and field-related challenges.Job Description (Duties and Responsibilities)Work in a team environment supporting sustaining engineering and product lifecycle initiativesAnalyze field-returned products and production test failures to determine root cause and implement corrective actionsImplement changes to product designs, documentation, and test procedures to improve quality, reliability, and costProvide technical support to resolve production issues, field service challenges, and customer concernsIdentify opportunities for design optimization, material changes, and manufacturing process improvementsPerform and oversee testing and validation of design changes to ensure performance and complianceEvaluate alternate suppliers and components to ensure reliability and fit-for-useEnsure existing designs meet functional, safety, and regulatory requirementsCollaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Service teamsProvide technical support to Sales, Marketing, and Service teams as neededEngage with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders on product performance and improvement initiativesContribute to engineering standards, documentation, and continuous improvement of processesAdditional responsibilities as assigned by leadership Basic RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field3–5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, sustaining, or manufacturing support environmentsStrong problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis and troubleshootingExperience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferredProficiency with Microsoft Office toolsAbility to manage multiple priorities and changing workloadsStrong organizational and communication skillsComfortable performing hands-on work when needed
