About Company:About the Role:As a Body Shop Technician, you will play a critical role in restoring vehicles to their original condition following collisions or damage. Your expertise will ensure that vehicles are repaired safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards, maintaining both structural integrity and aesthetic appeal. You will work closely with insurance adjusters, estimators, and other automotive professionals to assess damage and develop repair plans. This role requires a strong attention to detail and a commitment to customer satisfaction, as the quality of your work directly impacts the vehicle owner’s experience. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to the reputation and success of the body shop by delivering reliable and visually flawless repairs.Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.Completion of a formal training program or apprenticeship in auto body repair.Proven experience as a body shop technician or in a similar role.Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.Strong understanding of vehicle construction and repair techniques.Preferred Qualifications: Certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) in Collision Repair and Refinish.Experience with computerized estimating systems and repair documentation software.Knowledge of advanced welding techniques and frame straightening equipment.Familiarity with environmentally friendly repair materials and processes.Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.Responsibilities: Inspect damaged vehicles to determine the extent of repairs needed and develop a detailed repair plan.Remove damaged parts and replace or repair them using appropriate tools and techniques.Perform structural repairs, including frame straightening and welding, to restore vehicle safety and alignment.Prepare surfaces for painting by sanding, filling, and priming to ensure a smooth and durable finish.Collaborate with paint technicians to ensure seamless color matching and finish quality.Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and shop policies.Document repair processes and parts used for insurance and customer records.Stay updated on the latest repair techniques, tools, and industry standards.Skills:The required skills enable the technician to accurately assess vehicle damage and execute precise repairs using a variety of hand and power tools, ensuring structural integrity and aesthetic quality. Proficiency in welding and frame straightening is essential for restoring vehicle safety, while surface preparation skills are critical for achieving high-quality paint finishes.
