CDL B Truck Driver

Position: CDL Driver – FIFA Fan FestLocation: Kansas City, MO RegionPosition Type: Part-Time, TemporaryReports To: Director of OperationsBe a part of something big this summer! KC Can Compost is seeking a dependable, safety-minded CDL Driver to support compost collection during major World Cup-related events in the Kansas City region.This part-time role is about more than driving. It is part of KC Can Compost’s work to keep food waste out of the landfill, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and show what sustainable event operations can look like at a major regional scale. The Driver will play a key role in ensuring compostable materials are collected safely, efficiently, and professionally during these high-visibility public events.Morning routes. Set schedule. Local driving.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate 25-yard dump truck on local route.Drive vehicle from event site to drop-off location, empty compostable materials, then return vehicle to event site.Follow route timing and coordinate with the Operations team.Complete pre- and post-trip inspections.Ensure accurate documentation of route activities.Maintain cleanliness and operational safety of the assigned vehicle.Represent KC Can Compost in a professional and courteous manner with clients and the public.Follow all safety procedures and comply with company, local, and federal driving regulations.ScheduleMorning routes.Combination of weekday and weekend hours. Approximately 8-10 hours per week.Planned service dates: June 10, 12–15, 17, 20–22, 25, 27–28; July 4–6, 10–12Additional dates and hours may be added based on event needs.Required QualificationsValid CDL (Class B minimum; Class A preferred) with a clean driving record.Ability to reliably work on scheduled dates.Strong time management and communication skills.Reliable, punctual, and committed to environmental sustainability.Experience with dump trucks or similar equipment.Preferred QualificationsWaste, recycling, or compost experience.Familiarity with Kansas City area.Interest in or knowledge of composting, or environmental services.Physical Demands & Working ConditionsAbility to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.Some standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.Work is primarily outdoors and in vehicles.Compensation and Benefits$28 - $32/hourOpportunity for additional hours.Completion bonus.
