Technical Lead - Digital Assets

Join Danske Bank's new Digital Assets squad as Technical Lead for Digital Assets. Digital assets - including cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, and tokenised assets - are reshaping financial markets and the underlying financial infrastructure. We are looking for a senior technology leader who wants to help define, design, and build the technical foundations for Danske Bank's future digital asset capabilities.In this role, you will play a central part in shaping the target architecture for digital assets at Danske Bank, leading the selection and integration of core platforms (e.g. digital custody and wallet infrastructure), and ensuring that new solutions are securely and seamlessly integrated into the bank's existing technology landscape.About the TeamYou will be part of a new, Digital Assets team based in Markets Post-Trade Technology Tribe, anchored in Technology & Services. You will be teamed up with a Product Owner for digital assets and be part of a team that runs the development of our Digital Assets core platform.You will work closely with colleagues across Technology & Services, Transaction Banking, Markets, Architecture, Risk, Compliance, and external vendors to ensure that digital asset initiatives are developed in a scalable, secure, and regulator‐ready way.Your RoleAs Technical Lead for Digital Assets, you will take ownership of the technical direction and architectural design of Danske Bank's digital asset setup. You will lead the early‐stage technical work, including RFP execution, vendor evaluation, and target architecture definition, and act as the key technology counterpart to business, risk, and regulatory stakeholders.This is a hands‐on leadership role combining architecture, engineering judgement, and structured execution in a complex enterprise environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and own the target architecture for Danske Bank's digital assets platform, including custody, wallet infrastructure, and integration into the broader bank landscapeLead the technical aspects of vendor selection and RFP processes, including assessment of platforms such as digital custody and wallet providersDesign and oversee secure, scalable, and compliant integrations between external digital asset platforms and internal Danske Bank systems (e.g. identity, payments, risk, reporting, and monitoring)Act as the primary technology authority for digital assets, ensuring alignment with group architecture principles, security standards, and regulatory expectationsIdentify and manage technical risks, dependencies, and non‐functional requirements (security, resilience, availability, data protection)Contribute to the long‐term digital assets technology roadmap, including future scalability, new use cases, and platform evolutionWho Are We Looking For?The ideal candidate is a senior technologist who enjoys working at the intersection of new technology, financial infrastructure, and regulation, and who is comfortable taking ownership in an environment with many stakeholders and evolving requirements.We see you as someone with:Strong experience in solution architecture, technical leadership, or senior engineering roles within financial services or regulated environmentsExperience with complex platform integrations, ideally involving third‐party vendors and cloud‐based solutionsSolid understanding of enterprise architecture, security principles, and non‐functional requirements in large organisationsAbility to translate business and regulatory requirements into clear technical designs and architectural decisionsExperience with digital assets is a strong advantage, including areas such as:* Digital custody and wallet infrastructure* Cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, tokenisation, or blockchain‐based systemsInterested?If you would like to know more about the role before applying, please contact Kristian Kongsted, IT Lead - Markets Post-Trade Technology at krkon@danskebank.dk.We process applications continuously and encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
